Nevada's NEW Crane Safety Certification Requirement

Nevada OSHA has modified it's mobile and tower crane operator safety training requirements!

Nevada Division of Industrial Relations
Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 618.880

You must be certified before January 1, 2007!

Don't wait until the last minute. The certification process involves a third-party certifying organization which delays the process.

As of January 1, 2007 all crane operators who operate a mobile or tower crane must be certified by an Accredited Certifying Entity for the type of crane to be used...

EXCEPTIONS TO NRS 618.880:

(1) Mobile cranes having a usable boom length of less than 25 feet OR a maximum rated load capacity of less than 15,000 pounds;

(2) An employee of a Utility while the person is engaged in work for or at the direction of the utility;

(3) An operator of an electric or utility line truck that is regulated pursuant to 29 CFR § 1910.269 or 29 CFR, Subpart V; or
